Make strength training a priority this pre season. Get consistent and achieve your goals to make next season more fun and feel your best.

Let’s face it, getting consistent with a pre season strength training program can be difficult. Creating a new routine can take time and a busy schedule can make it even harder.

Even after making time on the calendar, deciding what to do when you get to the gym can be intimidating. What strength movements should I focus on? What exactly should I be doing to achieve my goals and feel my best leading up to ski and board season?

Imagine a setting where weekly strength training classes, focused on training for the demands of skiing and snowboarding and provided by experts in strength, mobility and injury prevention are at your finger tips. A supportive community with ready made programming to address your goals as well as science based evaluation methods to help determine what exactly you need to improve on to make your upcoming season the best possible.

That’s exactly what we are offering with Revo’s preseason ski and snowboard strength and conditioning classes this off season.

  1. What gets measured gets managed, this concept is a critical component of any high level training program. Randomly picking exercises or even worse, choosing to do exercises just because you are good at them already is a surefire way to not optimize your progress during the training season. A thorough evaluation to kickoff a training block is key to help inform what your areas of need are so you can be sure to prioritize those areas. This could include strength, joint mobility, and movement quality. Testing at the end of a training block can help show your improvements and inform if your focus should change for winter programming.

  2. Progressive overload built into your training program. Progressive overload is gradually increasing the stress of your body to allow for adaptation to that new stress. Think of moving slightly heavier weights each training session to allow for true strength changes. A common issue we see in DIY training is not embracing progressive overload. We see athletes get used to using very similar weights for a strength block and those athletes are typically disappointed with their lack of improvement come the next season. Having help with programming how much to increase resistance will greatly improve the outcomes of your investment.

  3. Community. Getting out of bed early to hit the gym in the cold winter months can be really difficult. For some, the challenge is maintaining energy to hit the gym after a hard day at the office. With a supportive community of fellow riders and coaches, helping to hold the group accountable for achieving their goals, we aim to make the challenge of getting into the gym just a bit easier.

Here at Revo in Denver, we have an entire team of physical therapists and strength coaches who are passionate about, not just skiing and snowboarding, but also helping other skiers and riders get stronger, feel their best and make training a fun part of their week. Our pre season ski/board strength training programming will provide a thorough assessment, expert programming and coaching, data to show your progress and a consistent schedule to help solidify new habits for the off season.

Benefits you can expect after our off season training program.

Improved strength and power

A key component of ski/board performance. Improving strength will allow you to have more fun, reduce risk on injury during the season and be more durable for back to back ski days.

Improved joint mobility

Optimizing your joint mobility is an important part of both improving your performance and improving how you feel during and after ski days. Ensuring proper range of motion can also help reduce risk of injury during the season.

Optimized movement quality

Movement quality is the way in which we move. There are many movement quality changes that can help spread stress across multiple areas of the body vs focused loading on one area. This helps reduce injury risk while also improving the effectiveness of your in gym training.

We hope you can join us this pre season. The Revo preseason ski/board strength training classes will begin in the first week of November and run until at least March.
